“Rubber Song” Video Sees SORE & Vira Talisa in an intense Cooking Battle
After revealing their surprise project with Vira Talisa last week, SORE premieres the music video for their single “Rubber Song”. Directed by Baskara Putra who is no other than the mastermind behind .Feast’s music and visual appearance, the video were set in a pink-ish themed background and wardrobe. Through a premiere on Frekuensi Antara, Baskara Putra said that the first thing that struck him while thinking about the video’s concept is both collaborators’ fondness towards cooking. If you have followed SORE’s members personally, they are known to enjoy good food from time to time. It is also known that they like cooking and coincidentally, Vira Talisa does too. Alas, bringing this concept into life, the video sees a cooking competition between SORE which was represented by Ade Paloh and Vira Talisa that aim to cook the best spaghetti bolognese. Awan became the MC of this cooking show while other two members from SORE had to be the judges.
Known for his keen eye for details in visuals, Baskara Putra seems to add his touch in creating a cohesive color themed setting. From Vira’s adorable wardrobe down to the cute cooking utensils and kitchen decoration, the video is a delight to our eyes. The song itself talks about human’s hesitance to discuss romanticism since many people are afraid to be labeled as cheesy. The easy listening song is perfect to be visualized as this light-hearted music video. Both Vira Talisa and SORE also ooze their good chemistry while competing between one another. Some slapsticks and comical gestures are shown in this video, adding more charm to it. Watch it until the end, because you are in for a (comedic) treat. Only wish that the cinematography could be warmer so the colors don’t pop up too saturated since we want to watch this more than once.
