X-Men Unleashes Its Final Series with “Dark Phoenix”, Will It Be Any Good?
X-Men has been with us since early 2000 and gave us a slew of favorite mutants/superheroes like Wolverine, Mystique, Storm, Magneto, and many more. This year will see the latest and final installment of the beloved mutant series from Marvel Comics with the release of “Dark Phoenix”. “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” doesn’t continue the story of its predecessor films like “X-Men: Days of Future Past” or even “X-Men: Apocalypse” (this one is a lackluster installment on X-Men series). Instead, “Dark Phoenix” tells about a separate narrative focusing on a mutant named Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) who became the strongest entity of the universe after she was exposed to cosmic radiation in space. Once Jean Gray returned to earth, she found similar situations happening to mutants and found mutual relations. However, her force was just too powerful and led to her outcast among mutants on earth. On her way to find a place to belong and control her power, she hurt people she loved the most. This led to a separation among X-Men who must go against the most dangerous villain, themselves. Besides Sophie Turner who made her debut as a superhero, longtime cast of X-Men including James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (The Beast), and Tye Sheridan (Cyclops) reprised their mutant characters once again. The project was helmed by Simon Kinberg as the director of this movie.
During a media sneak peek that was held yesterday in Jakarta, 20th Fox Century Indonesia also held a special collaboration to celebrate the release of “X-Men: Dark Phoenix”. Those who are willing to purchase the movie tickets to watch X-Men’s latest edition can buy it without hassle through Traveloka. Through their program called Traveloka Experience, the audience will get a 50% discount off their purchase of “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” tickets. Terry Santoso, Head of Xperience Product Marketing Traveloka encouraged the fans to keep their eyes on the app as the announcement will be made soon and get the privilege of buying the discounted tickets. Apart from this special offer, Indonesia has another thing to be proud of as singer Ghea Indrawari has dedicated a soundtrack inspired by “X-Men: Dark Phoenix”. A single called “Kurelakan” has been uploaded onto her Youtube channel and has garnered more than 400 thousand views! Judging from the crazy promo that this movie does, will it be the perfect cinematic experience to become a closure of the X-Men franchise? You’ll be the judge once it’s out on the cinema across the country starting from 14 June 2019. But first, take a look at its final trailer below.
