American Football is Ready to Bring Asia In Its Feels with Upcoming Tour Dates
We thought this day will never come, however, emo lords hear our prayers and just like that, American Football has been booked for two dates in Asia on their upcoming tour. Singapore will be the first destination of the band comprised of Mike Kinsella, Steve Lamos, Steve Holmes, and Nate Kinsella. The news about their Singaporean concert has been announced late April and the date has been set on August 4th. The concert for the emo group hailing from Illinois in the country of Merlion will be brought by Symmetry Entertainment. The band will perform at The Pavilion, Far East Square and the tickets for this concert has been on sale for $85 SGD or approximately IDR 894,000 ($1 SGD = IDR10,507). The promoter has been known to bring foreign acts to the island country including Jakob Ogawa, Last Dinosaur, Connan Mockasin and many more. While the Singaporean tour has been set and ready to be embarked, yesterday surprising news came from SIx Thirty Recordings, Noisewhore, and PPPOST95 – three musical collectives hailing from Jakarta, Indonesia.

They took to social media last night to announce that Mike Kinsella and co. will indeed make another stop in Southeast Asia which is Jakarta, Indonesia to be exact. The news was met with tremendous reaction from American Football’s fans who have been waiting for a chance to watch their favorite comes to the archipelago. It marks the first time that this emo four-piece set foot in Indonesia and although the date hasn’t been set. it is highly likely that American Football will perform in Jakarta one day after their concert in Singapore. The three collectives mentioned above have joined forces to bring this highly-anticipated act to our country after successfully bringing other international acts like Turnover, Connan Mockasin, Japanese Breakfast, Mitski, and many more. We surely hope that the ticket price won’t be higher than those in Singapore. So far, no opening acts or local acts have been announced for this tour. Judging by their ongoing tour, the band who has signed to Polyvinyl Records does not have an opening act, so maybe it’ll be the same for their Asian tour. So, the most important question is, are you ready to see them on tour this August? Get your feelings and emotions ready and follow the updates on @symmetryent for the Singapore’s stop and @pppost.95 @630recs and @noisewhore for its Indonesia’s stop. You might as well check the official tour dates for the band on their website here and stream their latest album “LP3”.
The date and venue for American Football’s concert in Jakarta have been released. The emo lords will grace the stage of Studio Palem, Kemang on August 5th, a day apart from their Singapore’s concert. The tickets will be on sale starting tomorrow (5/28) using an offline method at Rossi Musik Fatmawati with a maximum purchase of 4 tickets per person. It will be sold online the following day, so don’t worry too much. The good news is it will cost half the price from Singapore’s concert. You can obtain your chance to see them live for IDR425,000 only. Check out the updates on @pppost.95 @630recs and @noisewhore!
