Blood Orange Recruits A Great Cast for “Hope” Music Video

“Negro Swan” is a gift that keeps on giving, and we are here for all the visual from this latest album of Blood Orange. The musician who is also known as Devonté Hynes or Dev Hynes for short has recruited a great ensemble of casts for his latest self-directed visual of “Hope”. This becomes the sixth visual from “Negro Swan” era that Blood Orange releases. The musician previously dropped the videos for  “Chewing Gum”, “Saint”, “Charcoal Baby”, “Jewelry”, and “Dagenham Dreams” within the last year. Produced by Elara Pictures, Dev Hynes recruited the help from Tei Shi, Diddy, Empress Of, Tyler The Creator, A$AP Rocky, Alton Mason, and Dominique who made appearances on the video. Choreographer Emma Portner also helped to bring the scenes together throughout 10 interwoven scenes and various locations. To add more organic rawness, this video was also shot in 35mm format. The song itself has this old school hip-hop feel to it that makes it the perfect vehicle for nostalgia.

In the meantime, “Hope” music video is exclusively available of Apple Music only. It might take a while before it could be viewed outside of the streaming platform. Moreover, Blood Orange is slated to go on tour this spring with Florence + the Machine and Christine and the Queens, in addition to festival dates at Coachella and Governor’s Ball. Check out his tour dates below and catch him on tour to witness “Negro Swan” in all of its glory before your own eyes.
