JAKARTA – Do you think you can get enough performances from your favorite foreign musicians this year? If the answer is no, then you are in a treat because a newly established music collective called PPPOST95 has just announced their first ever event with Connan Mockasin as its guest star. The New Zealand-hailed musician and songwriter has released his third album last year called “Jassbusters”. Containing 8 tracks in total, the album was tailored to accompany a serial in which he also starred in called “Bostyn ‘N Dobsyn”. Much to his surprise, this album earned generally positive reviews from the listeners and critics alike. His upcoming concert in J-town which is officially titled as “Connan Mockasin Live in Jakarta” will be held on April 2nd, 2019 at Rossi Musik Fatmawati.

He will bring his psychedelic pop affair to the attendees as it is also his first time performing in Jakarta. This concert is a part of his tour to promote “Jassbusters” album. So far, he has been scheduled to hold a tour in Australia and his homeland, New Zealand. Asia is no stranger to this musician, as he is known to reside in Tokyo, Japan at the moment. Born in Te Awanga, New Zealand, Connan Mockasin moves around a lot with residencies in London, Manchester, Los Angeles, and at last, Japan. Starting off his career about ten years ago, he has participated in a lot of collaborations including a participation on a compilation album called “Myths 001: Collaborative Recordings Captured in Marfa” with Blood Orange, a collaboration on “The Colour in Anything” by James Blake, as well as a feature on MGMT’s latest album “Little Dark Age”.

As Connan Mockasin, he has released three solo albums under this moniker with titles such as “Forever Dolphin Love” (2011), “Caramel’’ (2013), and of course, “Jassbusters” (2018). The singer who is famous for hit songs like “Forever Dolphin Love” and “I’m The Man, That Will Find You” will follow the footsteps of other foreign musicians that will hold concerts in the archipelago this year, including John Mayer, Khruangbin, Pianos Become The Teeth, Mitski, Japanese Breakfast, TOTO, H.E.R, Raveena, HONNE, The Internet, and many more.
