Get Ready to Witness Japanese Breakfast’s Performance in Jakarta
After announcing Mitski as their first ever international guest star, there is no sign of stopping for music collective based in Jakarta, Noisewhore. As of today, they officially announced Japanese Breakfast as their second international musician coming to Indonesia for its live installment in collaboration with Studiorama and Pesona Experience. The indie rocker whose real name is Michelle Zauner rose to fame after her debut album “Psychopomp” gained recognition from critic heavyweights in 2016. The Korean-American musician managed to blend her soft vocals with an edgy pop arrangement that makes the listeners fell in love with her. Some people labeled her sound as experimental pop and some label her as lo-fi. In our own definition, Japanese Breakfast’s sounds like a collision between 90’s bubble pop with plenty of synths and other electronic elements. In 2017, her sophomore album “Soft Sounds from Another Planet” gained even more popularity. In this album, she also participated more in the production department including writing the script for the music video. Her second album was released under a new label, Dead Oceans.
Michelle Zauner’s coming to Indonesia has been awaited, since she held a tour across Asia before. Since early in January this year, she has hit the road for a tour across North America. Her tour in Asia will start from May 13th, 2019 with a performance in Singapore. She will be here in Indonesia on May 15th, 2019 with a scheduled gig at Rossi Musik Fatmawati. She will visit other countries across Asia including the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea. This one-woman band will continue the rest of her tour to Europe until August. There isn’t an announcement regarding the ticket price or the opening act yet, but rest assure, you can follow @noisewhore or @studioramajkt for the latest info about Japanese Breakfast Live in Jakarta.
