AriReda to Embark on “Menunggu Kemarau” Tour This November
Folk duo AriReda have successfully released their third album “Suara Dari Jauh” in 2017 and they have just announced a tour that will happen throughout November called “Menunggu Kemarau”. Starting from 18 – 26 November, Reda Gaudiamo and Ari Malibu will visit seven cities across Java. Their tour will commence in Surabaya, then it will be followed by Solo, Salatiga, Semarang, Malang, and lastly Karawang. On the past couple years, they have finished two tours “European Tour” (2015) and “Still Crazy After All These Years Tour” (2016). “For us, going on tour is a precious chance to meet with new people. One of the most precious result from the album “Suara Dari Jauh” which was released in March 2017 is the addition of cities that we will visit to perform. This tour is also the side effect from that album,” said Reda about this tour. Ari then added, “AriReda can not stop, we should keep playing. By visiting new cities, we keep that commitment.” 2017 sees AriReda’s busiest year yet, with more than 40 gigs and counting with the addition of the scheduled performances on this tour.
On this tour, the duo will have a chance to share stage with Tony Memmel and His Band, musician hailing from United States. It happens due to the support of Embassy of United States in Indonesia on their agenda “American Music Abroad” which sees American musicians performing their music in several cities in Indonesia. “Since the beginning when being asked to share tour, we embrace it with open arms. It’s interesting to be able to talk and present our music to people who have never seen us play. We never visited Semarang and Solo before, not to mention Salatiga. So being able to tour with Tony Memmel and His Band is an exciting chance to have,” uttered Reda. On the press release, they also cited their excitement in visiting Malang once again since it is one of their favorite city to perform. There they will be welcomed by their best pal, Iksan Skuter who will act as a host and provide stage at his establishment. They unveiled that there should be one more city to visit which is Sukabumi, but due to technical difficulties their performance is postponed until December. Albeit being very busy, the duo promised new releases scheduled in early 2018. Below is the detailed dates and venues of their “Menunggu Kemarau” tour, make sure you catch them on the road!
