Bin Idris Accompanies Your Journey Back Home with “Pulang Kampung”
Bin Idris, the solo project of Haikal Azizi has just released his Ramadhan album called “Anjing Tua” exclusively on the website of Tirto. From the album, he has revealed several singles starting from “Hari Sudah Petang” and “Rukun Warga”. The release of “Anjing Tua” marks the second full-length album from him after his brilliant debut last year with a self titled album. The whole digital album can only be streamed exclusively on the site, and Bin Idris camp have a reason for this move. Cited from Tirto, as explained by Bin Idris’ photographer and manager, Robby Wahyudi Onggo, they want to spread Bin Idris’ music to a wider scope, not only to his listeners who are mostly indie music fans, but also people who never even heard of his name or music. Tirto as a portal who often becomes the source for political, economics, or social issues in Indonesia is hoped to be a perfect platform for Bin Idris to introduce his music to the public. “We also want to make a new breakthrough for our musician friends, whether it’s mainstream or sidestream, that this media also open to spread their song materials,” says Robby.
“Anjing Tua” is filled with 7 tracks in total and in conjunction with the album release, Bin Idris also unveiled the music video for “Pulang Kampung”. The ritual which is done by most people across Indonesia during Eid Al-Fitr becomes the inspiration for this music. Shot and directed by Haviz Maulana, and starring a talent named Rafael Damar Anjar, it tells about the festivity of going back to the place we call home. It also chronicles how one would experience the feeling of not going home by staying in the capital city of Jakarta. Without enough money to make the trip and all his business, he is forced to spend the holidays by himself in the solitude of Jakarta who is left behind by its inhabitants. Are you one of them who can not make the trip back home this year? Then it is the perfect soundtrack for you. For those who safely return to their families this year, then it is a reminder to always be thankful.
