MFM Radio with Richdjoe Barbershops Will Hold Charity Event for No Shavember 2016
One of the most threatening cancer for men is prostate cancer, and a movement that aims to raise awareness for this disease called “No Shave, November” or No Shavember has been held annually in order to raise fund for the patients worldwide. Prostate cancer itself is a kind of cancer that is developed in the prostate area (a gland in men’s reproductive system). The people who got affected by this disease is not few, unfortunately the treatment for this cancer has not been handled well in Indonesia. The movement of “No Shave, November” encourage men not to shave their facial hair in a month to show their concern towards the prostate cancer patients. They usually upload the picture of their unshaven faces to the social media with the hashtag #Noshavember and donate some money to the official website of the movement at http://www.movember.com/
This year’s event marks the second time for MFM Radio and Richdjoe Barbershops to join the No Shavember movement. MFM as a radio for youth with Richdjoe Barbershops want to raise awareness for prostate cancer and ask Malang’s youth and citizens to donate to the cause. They hope to be able to raise even more money than last year’s collected fund, which was 1,840,000 rupiahs. The fund will be donated to prostate cancer patients through one of the hospital in Malang which is RS Prima Husada. It will be used for the cancer patients’ treatment and cover the cost of their hospitalization. The charity event will be held on Saturday, November 26th 2016 at Rumah Opa Malang. There will be a socialization for prostate cancer from DIXI Community and music performances by Malang’s very own talented musicians like Christabel Annora, Wake Up Iris!, Beeswax, Coldiac, Young Savages, Pagi Tadi, and Much.
Hopefully, the event will raise the concern of prostate cancer in Malang city and become a trademark movement on November, by indirectly join the #Noshavember action and spread the spirit of the movement to others. Go to MFM Radio’s Instagram for further info.
