Soothe Those Nerves with Homecamp’s Song “Before The Storm”
We know and also feel that this whole social distancing and quarantine put a lot of stress on our nerves. That’s why when Homecamp‘s PR team reached to us to introduce his music to us, we were more than glad to find out that the music is actually soothing and uplifting at the same time. Who doesn’t need that in this pandemic era? Titled “Before The Storm”, the song combines several instruments like piano, guitar, drums, bass, with energizing chord progressions that will brighten your day. To us, Homecamp’s music is like a blend of generic pop with a dash of ambient music. If Homecamp a.k.a Adam Binder ditched the whole sound and vocal effect landscape, “Before The Storm” could miserably fall in a more pop-rock sounding song category. Imagine Daughtry, David Cook, or even Simple Plan as the equation. However, with the addition of pulsating beats in the background, various layers of effect, “Before The Storm” has a more heartfelt and ambient approach that will remind you with the likes of Novo Amor, Bon Iver, and a bit of The Postal Service.
The differentiation between the pop-rock and ambient sound from Homecamp is paper thin and we think that it would do him good if he accentuates the later genre more. With more exploration on vocal and sound effects and limitless choice of instruments that he could use, Homecamp has some lethal weapons that he has yet to show to the listeners. While “Before The Storm” acts as a warm-up, the Wolverhampton native should and could do better in next releases. In the meantime, this song suffices our need of jolly tunes and melodies in these difficult times. “Before The Storm” by Homecamp can be listened here and the music video is already up and running on the musician’s official Youtube channel.
