The 1975 is Set To Perform at Gelora Bung Karno This September
The 1975 fans rejoice! Because the band has been confirmed to perform in Jakarta this September. The tour titled “A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships” will be held on September 29th, 2019 at Helipad Parking Ground GBK Senayan. The Manchester four-piece has broken the record by placing their third album as the #1 album in the UK. This means that all three albums from the band have managed to secure the top position on the charts, further lamenting their position as a top-notch act from the land of kings and queens. They have sold out tours across UK & US this year and also headlining a prominent music festival Reading & Leeds. The 1975 is set to kick off their tour leg in Asia starting from September 6th in Seoul, South Korea. Jakarta’s date is the latest addition to their ongoing tour after the band has been confirmed to perform in Singapore on September 16th. There are still possibilities that there will be more dates added to their Asia tour, considering there are two weeks of spare time between their performance in Singapore and Jakarta.
“A Brief Inquiry Into Relationship” boasts further musical and style exploration from the band as they come out from their comfort zones. They dare to choose an unpopular theme that is rather left unspoken by other musicians, and make it work through their choice of lyrics and visualization. Their coming to Jakarta this September will mark the second time Matt Healy and co. has set foot in the archipelago. They have performed here for We The Fest in 2016 during their promotional tour for sophomore album “I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It”.
