Jazz Gunung 2019 Has Arrived with Scheduled Dates & Line-Up
Indonesia is home for renown international jazz festivals and one of them is Jazz Gunung. Held in a mountainous area of Bromo and Ijen annually, the festival has officially announced the dates for this year’s celebration. Through a press release that we received, Jazz Gunung which has spanned two series namely Jazz Gunung Bromo and Jazz Gunung Ijen will be held this July and September. Jazz Gunung Bromo 2019 will start off the jazz festivity at Amfiteater Bromo, Jiwa Jawa Resort on July 26th – 27th. On its previous edition, Jazz Gunung Bromo introduced a three-day affair. However, they have returned to their old format by holding a two-day jazz festival. The first line-up for the festival has been announced and it includes names like Djaduk Ferianto’s Ring of Fire Project feat. Didi Kempot & Ricad Hutapea, Tompi, Sierra Soetedjo, Candra Darusman Projects, Idang Rasjidi feat, Mus Mujiono, Tristan, Gugun Blues Shelter, Yuri Mahatma Quartet, Voyager 4, Debu, Geliga, Nita Aartsen Kwartet with special guest Rene Calvin, Antonio Marcos & Pablo Calzado. Some interesting names popped up in the line up including Indonesia’s emo father and renown Campursari singer, Didi Kempot; and a band whose music is highly influenced by Sufism – Debu among many others.
A couple months after Jazz Gunung Bromo wrapped up its celebration, Jazz Gunung Ijen 2019 will be held at Amfiteater Terbuka Jiwa Jawa Resort Ijen, Banyuwangi. Unlike Bromo’s edition, Jazz Gunung Ijen will be a one-day jazz festival. Tompi, Yura Yunita, Parkdrive, Bintang Mencari Bintang, and MLD Jazz Project have been confirmed to perform on the festival which was used to be named “Ijen Summer Jazz”. The tickets for both festivals have been up on sale through Jazz Gunung’s official website. You can buy the ticket for Jazz Gunung Bromo 2019 starting from IDR 450,000 for four different categories. You can also buy a three-day pass for Bromo starting from IDR 500,000. The cost for Jazz Gunung Ijen 2019’s tickets starts from IDR250,000 with three categories available.
