JAKARTA (10/20) – Jakarta Fashion Week 2019 is here and it has started its celebration yesterday, 20 – 26 October 2018 at Senayan City. Over 200 designers and labels, both national and international, are ready to debut their brand new collections in the grandest celebration of fashion in Indonesia. This year, Jakarta Fashion Week is sponsored by Senayan City, Make Over, L’Oréal Professionnel, Matahari Department Store, UBS Gold, Blibli.com, POND’S Age Miracle, Wardah Cosmetics, Style Theory, and Royal Philips. Jakarta Fashion Week 2019 is inaugurating over 2.600 new collections from 204 designers and labels, including designers of Indonesia Fashion Forward. This year’s Jakarta Fashion Week is also endorsed by international partners, including Australian Embassy, British Council, Emerging Pakistan, Fashion Design Council of India, Institute Français Indonesia, Japan Fashion Week Organization, Korea Content Creative Agency (KOCCA), Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE),and Young Creator Indonesia Fashion Institute (YCIFI).

In its 11th year, Jakarta Fashion Week 2019 is coming with greater vivacity in bolder collaborations, including those with international partners and designers of Indonesia Fashion Forward. Australian Embassy is showcasing pieces from designers of Aboriginal Art Centre in collaboration with the talented Novita Yunus on JFW’s opening night. The visitors could see the influence of Aussie’s native tribe with a touch of modernism and edge. British Council is gracing the event with designer Teatum Jones in collaboration with Sean Sheila. More international partners are also proudly participating in Jakarta Fashion Week 2019 with their talented designers. Japan will introduce us further to Elendeek, UN3D, Tategami, and Yoakeh, while South Korea is coming with SYZ and Royal Layor. Zuria Dor from Pakistan and Vaishali S from India are also scheduled to appear.

Jakarta Fashion Week 2019 is also a festival to celebrate the ever-achieving designers of Indonesia Fashion Forward who’d brought Indonesia to international fashion spotlight throughout 2018. This includes Toton, Sean Sheila, Etterette, and Peggy Hartanto, who participated in Paris Trade Show 2018. This year’s Jakarta Fashion Week is also showcasing participant of Seoul Fashion Kode, Bateeq. I.K.Y.K. dan NY by Novita Yunus who dazzled the stage of Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo is also invited to this celebration. The awaited retail program, Fashionlink Showroom & Market, is also going to take place alongside Jakarta Fashion Week on 22-26 October 2018 in The Hall, Senayan City 8th Floor. The area is going to feature a great variety of activities including trunk show and talk show from community partners with a variety of focus, from the environment, photography, to wellness. To indulge the valued visitors, over 100 fashion labels, accessories, lifestyle, and food and beverages brands will also be participating in Fashionlink Showroom & Market.

Jakarta Fashion Week 2019 is also a proud participator of ID Creative Week (20-28 October 2018) with Brightspot in Pacific Place, as well as IdeaFest in Jakarta Convention Center. The opening night was attended by lots of JFW’s partners, sponsors, and guests and there will be more in this coming week!
