JAKARTA (7/12) – The most awaited event for pop culture enthusiasts in Indonesia, POPCON Asia 2018 will be arriving soon in September. Slated to be held for two days from 22 – 23 September 2019 at ICE BSD, this event brings a new theme for their 7th edition called “Clash of Pop”. During a press conference held at Electronic City, SCBD, Jakarta held earlier this day, the entire programs for POPCON Asia 2018 was elaborated after few teasings. Not only encouraging creativity from its participants and visitors, this time the event also acts as a medium for collaborations. In order to support Indonesia’s growing creative industry, you can join Tabletopia, an interactive arena that enables the visitors to play a board game which is created by our very own creative minds. Doodle Battle will be returning after it received high enthusiasm from visitors last year. The organizer promised for a more engaging and interactive content for this program.

POPCONNECT enables the local creators with potential investors, while POPCON Cosplay Challenge will be a battlefield for Indonesia’s most stunning cosplayers with up to 36 million rupiahs as the reward. The press conference also introduced some people that will hold key roles during the celebration. Pepeng NAIF from Pilar Music is appointed as the host of POPCON Asia and he conveyed his excitement for his upcoming role. Yenny Wangsawidjaja as the CEO of POPCON.Inc stated her team’s commitment to involve all elements in creative industries. “We realize that to become a platform for all creative industries in this country, especially those who work in pop culture, we must accommodate various parties. A new award category for Indonesian film called FEATURE FILM will be included on POPCON Award this year.
