Behold, Post Punk Band Protomartys Will Perform in Jakarta!
Post punk band, Protomartyr are reportedly going on tour across Asia, and thanks to 630 Records and Winona Tapes, they will drop by our country real soon. The band are slated to perform at the first floor of Rossi Musik Fatmawati on Thursday, 21 June 2018. The Detroit post punk outfit was formed in 2010 by Joe Casey (vocal), Greg Ahee (guitarist), Scott Davidson (bass) and Alex Leonard (drum). Comprising of the same members since they were established, Protomartyr four studio albums. They have unleashed “No Passion All Technique” in 2012, “Under Color of Official Right” in 2014, “The Agent Intellect” in 2015 and “Relatives in Descent” last year. These first three albums were released under Hardly Art, a sub-label of Sub Pop Records, while their last effort was after they signed under Domino Recordings. Over the year, Protomartyr have come up with their own post-punk formula that elevated their position as a modern post-punk band whose influenced are recognized by critics and peers alike.
Their visit to Jakarta is in conjunction with their Asia tour starting from 13 June 2018. They will kick off their Asia leg tour in Hongkong, then moving forward to Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul and Kuala Lumpur respectively. Jakarta will be their last destination in Asia, so it’d be a waste if you miss the chance to see them live. Both record label collectives as the organizers shared their excitement for Protomartyr’s coming to Indonesia and have been a huge fan of this band. “Protomartys have been on our wishlist for quite a while,” said the representative from 630 Recordings. With the coming of this American band, they will join other foreign musicians that have been invited by this collective. Beforehand, Turnover, A Place to Bury Strangers, Fazerdaze and more musicians have held their shows in Jakarta.
