Japanese Pop Culture Event, C3 AFA Jakarta Returns Bigger This Year
It seems like Japanese culture enthusiasts in Jakarta are in for a treat with the upcoming edition of C3 AFA JKT. Being held for the consecutive 7th year, the event will be held from 31 August to 2 September 2018. Something different is about to be served as C3 AFA JKT will be moved to a more spacious area to accommodate even larger crowd. The new home to his pop culture festival is at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) at BSD, Tangerang. Last year, C3AFA managed to attract 50,000 attendees on their 3-day-affair. It boasted about 150 exhibitors showcased their products and services, 8 performing artists from Japan, 9 Japanese guests, and 16 guests who hosted the mini stages. . “We believe the new venue is a step in the right direction as we have received much feedback from fans about moving the festival to ICE. We hope the new venue will be able to accommodate all the new and exciting content we will have this year,” Shawn Chin, Festival Director said.
GameStart, Southeast Asia’s premier gaming convention who is usually held in Singapore will set foot in Indonesia for the first time this year in conjunction with C3AFA. The convention’s highlights in Indonesia include mobile and console esports tournaments including SEA Mobile Major, game showcases across PC, console, mobile and tabletop games, as well as special guests. The stages will once again invite Japanese groups to Indonesia as well as screen animated movies with the attendance of international guests such as voice actors, celebrity cosplayers and more.
