Albert Hammond Jr. Shares New Track “Far Away Truths” Taken From “Francis Trouble”

After two years, Albert Hammond Jr. is back with a new record titled “Francis Trouble” that will drop on March 9th via Red Bull Records. Ahead of that, the singer, songwriter and guitarist has revealed first single “Muted Beatings” with an emotional live performance at late night show, CONAN. Now we are in for another treat with second single from this album called “Far Away Truths”. Just like previous single “Muted Beatings”, “Far Away Truths” is within the happiness spectrum for its melodies and we’re liking what we hear so far. It begins with familiar guitar riffs that might remind you of his band, The Strokes. The song goes on for 3 minutes and 38 seconds bringing more riffs, catchy hooks, and we expect some guitar solo on the way with no avail. We’re two weeks away before “Francis Trouble” is released and if you wonder who Francis is. It was the name for Hammond’s still born twin that got no chance of living.

Bringing a personal topic in his music, “Francis Trouble” sees Hammond explore a new direction. “What the music says may be serious, but as a medium it should not be questioned, analyzed or taken too seriously. I think it should be tarted up, made into a character, a parody of itself. The music is the mask the message wears and I, the performer, am the message,” said Hammond. He learned the story of his stillborn twin brother at the age of 36 and this number becomes a sacred thing in this album. The album is an homage to his brother as well as his own birth as Hammond Jr. was born on the 9th day of the 4th month of the year. Significantly, the album is exactly 36 minutes long. Listen to his new single “Far Away Truths” on digital streaming platforms and pre-order the album on iTunes with two previously released singles available.
