70sOC Electric Love Funkified ShowcaseCome Watch The Showcase of 70sOC with “Funkified” Today!

Bandung’s band 70sOC are going to present something special for their fans and music enthusiasts in the city. The band are going to hold a showcase titled “Electric Love: Funkified” today at Spasial. They will not only perform, but there will also be hearing session of their newest album as well as discussion regarding “Funk Jaman Now”. Later on, they will showcase the songs from the album “Electric Love”, and DJ session from Munir (Midnight Runner) who will play Indonesian funk songs from the old times. Through ‘Funkified’, 70sOC plan to bring something new to the industry and help to spread the knowledge about this genre. It took the band one year to finally hold a showcase for their most recent album. Through their one year journey, 70sOC also went through a member change. Initially comprised of Anto Arief, Gantira Sena, and Galant Yurdian, Galant decided to depart from the band and his position was filled in by Fabian Gifarian. “There is Fabian Gifarian who replaced Galant on bass. I think this is the best time to introduce him specifically,” said Anto, the frontman of 70sOC. This becomes the third time that the band went through member changes since they debuted with their old moniker, 70s Orgasm Club.

70sOC Electric Love Funkified ShowcaseBesides introducing new member, the band also aim to educate music enthusiasts and general public about funk music. “There are so many songs that insert the element of funk in music that we listen today. Just look at the work of The Rollies, Koes Plus, Rhoma Irama up to Maliq & D’essentials. However, there are very few bands that dedicate their music as pure funk. Hopefully this event will give more knowledge to people about this music as well as discovering the listeners and musicians of funk music in Bandung,” adds Anto. They also have prepared something special with the addition of percussion and wind instruments on their live set. The discussion will invite Idhar Resmadi as the moderator, with Reynold Marshall (Kelompok Penerbang Roket’s guitarist, former guitarist of funk band, Speakeasy), Tanto Putrandito (The Groove’s keyboardist) as the speakers. The event will last until 10PM at night with IDR20,000 as the admission ticket. Come and get your groove on!
