Kiki’s Delivery Service Will Be Shown on Indonesian Theaters Starting Next Week!
World of Ghibli Jakarta has announced their plan to screen favorite films from Studio Ghibli since 2017. This year, they continue their agenda by bringing “Kiki’s Delivery Service” to Indonesian theaters. As cited from the organizer’s official announcement on their social media, it was revealed that the film about the adventure of a little witch named Kiki will be the next Ghibli movie to be screened here following the launching of “Spirited Away”, “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Ponyo on The Cliff by The Sea”, “Princess Mononoke” and “Howl’s Moving Castle” last year. Just like the previous movies, “Kiki’s Delivery Service” will be shown for a week on CGV cinemas all across Indonesia. The ticket for the limited screening could be purchased through online app called Karcisus. “Kiki’s Delivery Service” won’t be the only Ghibli movie shown in this month. Another movie that is also a fan favorite “From Up On Poppy Hill” is planned to be screened on the same month. Next, it will be followed by “Secret World of Arriety” and “Pom Poko” in February, “Porco Rosso” and “When Marnie Was There” in March.
Other than screenings, World of Ghibli Jakarta also promised to hold Fan Art Competition among many other things that they have planned for this year. Since March 2017, there were a lot of film screenings held in several big cities across Indonesia. They also have erected a pop-up “World of Ghibli Exhibition” at Ritz Carlton Ballroom, Pacific Place, Jakarta that managed to attract more than 20,000 visitors. Per usual, artist Bisri Mustofa will remake the original posters of the Ghibli movies for the special Indonesian screenings. The advancement of Studio Ghibli in Indonesia proves that the movies are well received by the viewers here. Besides already having a strong fanbase, the animation studio also aims to attract new fans through their program that is done in collaboration with Kaninga Pictures (KANAHAMA), Marubeni Corporation and Hakuhodo. So, you got your broomstick ready? Because Kiki will take you on a ride next week!
