King of Panda Come Back with A Single “Desember”
December is ending soon, but at least pop punk collective from Bali, King of Panda choose the right time to release their comeback single called “Desember”. The band have been on hiatus for five solid years before returning to the music scene in 2017 with a new song. Choqy Satria (vocal, guitar), Wahyu Indira (vocal, guitar), Wiwin Wijanar (bass) and Gungde Yudistira (drum) have released one full album, one compilation album, and two singles from 2010. The single “Desember” is released before they unveil their upcoming project which is a full lenght sophomore album called “Back In The Game”. The song is a highly fueled pop-punk track which could pump up your spirit if you are into this genre. Albeit citing that their music has changed throughout the years after a long hiatus, we could still hear a trace of their 2000’s pop punk sound. King of Panda themselves admit that they are a fan of bands like Four Year Strong, New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, A Day To Remember, BLINK 182, Set Your Goals, and Motion City Soundtrack.
As their first single after a while, “Desember” holds a special meaning for the band who became an opener for Four Year Strong’s show in Bali. “We chose this song since it feels the most suitable with our daily lives in terms of maturing process. It also shows our new identity after going through transition process whether in the music’s arrangement, lyrics, or instruments. We want to emphasize that sometimes a hope or plan could not go as well as we’d like it to be, but that doesn’t end our journey,” said Choqy. They decided to reveal the single in the month of December with the philosophy that the month might be the last month of the year, but it also opens a new chapter for next year. If you are an old listener of the band, you might find their new sound to be far more simple, but their return is something to be grateful for, right? Listen to the song from King of Panda below.
