A Place to Bury Strangers Live in JakartaA Place to Bury Strangers Will Head to Jakarta and Tickets Are On Sale!

Three collectives from Jakarta, Studiorama, Noisewhore and Six Thirty Recordings once again join forces in bringing A Place to Bury Strangers to Jakarta. The noise rock/post punk unit from New York, US will greet Jakarta on a showcase held at Rossi Musik Fatmawati on 22 December 2017.  The band is deemed to be the noisiest act around New York and even renown media outlet, The Washington Post claimed them as “the most ear-shatteringly loud garage/shoegaze band you’ll ever hear”. Oliver Ackermann, Dion Lunadon and Lia Simone Braswell from A Place to Bury Strangers last released their album “Transfixiation” in 2015 via Dead Oceans. So far the band have four full albums A Place to Bury Strangers (2007), Exploding Head (2009), Worship (2012), and Transfixiation (2015) and 8 EPs in total. Since their formation in 2003, the band has underwent several member changes until it becomes the format of three member that we know now.

They have become the opening act for more renown bands like Nine Inch Nails, The Jesus and Mary Chain, MGMT and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Two acts will open the set before them and they are Flukeminimix from Bandung and Pelteras from Jakarta. “Flukeminimix have noisy rock experimental composition, while Pelteras play dark post punk,” said the organizers on why they chose these two acts as the opening from the band. Their music is said to be in line with the music from A Place to Bury Strangers. The band are currently going on tour in Europe and will start their Asia leg since 13 December 2017 with Japan as the first stop. The ticket for A Place to Bury Strangers Live in Jakarta has been on sale for IDR150,000 and can be purchased through thisGet your eardrums ready to listen to the noisiest act in Jakarta.
