ZALORA x Magnum Present Fun Runway on Jakarta Fashion Week 2018
This year, leading fashion e-commerce in Asia, ZALORA teamed up with luxurious ice cream brand, Magnum collaborated with two Indonesian designers for their runway show during Jakarta Fashion Week 2018 held last Thursday, 26 October 2017. Having commited to become a main destination for fashion enthusiasts in Indonesia, ZALORA chose Barli Asmara and Ikat Indonesia by Didiet Maulana as their designer partners for this year. Titled “Press Play”, both designers took their inspiration from women’s fluid character which has many aspects. Gentle yet tough and feminine but sporty, this collection is dedicated to sophisticated ladies who are independent and tough while still keeping their fun and playful sides intact. The overall look of the collection is wearable throughout the day to support women’s various daily activities.
Besides collaborating in JFW 2018 runway, ZALORA and Magnum also held Magnum Fashion Giveaway 2 in which they gave away 20% ZALORA voucher without minimum purchase by exchanging unique code on Magnum ice cream stick. You just have to insert the code on www.magnumicecream.com to obtain your voucher. Even you can get the exclusive collection from Barli Asmara and Ikat Indonesia by Didiet Maulana through this program. Back to the runway, Barli Asmara drew inspiration from women’s feminine side as we can see his signature three dimensional details and the use of Indonesia’s hand crafted cloth. He translated his influence into ruffles and crinkles in his design. As he believed that women are 100% feminine, he inserted the tough element through his choice of colors which is monochromatic. Black, gray, navy blue, and white are the palette that Barli accentuated using various materials from cotton, scuba and crepe. We could see some of our favorite fashion bloggers walked the runway for Barli Asmara like Sonia Eryka, Alika, Anaz Siantar and many more.
Didiet Maulana with his collection on Ikat Indonesia, combined tradition with contemporary style of Indonesia that is especially designed for modern women. Inspired by Balinese traditional temple, the collection reflects the architectural style of Bali and at the same time, brought modern silhouette and digital using traditional ikat technique. We could see symmetrical pattern, bright colors and flowing materials in this collection. Both collections are available exclusively on ZALORA and once again the e-commerce site brought back the concept “see now buy now” which allowed the audience to buy the collection during the runway show.
