White Shoes & The Couples Company Hidup Hanya Sekali VideoWhite Shoes & The Couples Company Reveal “Hidup Hanya Sekali” from “Perempuan-Perempuan Chairil Anwar” OST

It has been four solid years since White Shoes & The Couples Company last released their album “Vakansi”. The band had a tour, multiple appearances and other various projects but not really a new material. At last, our thirst for WSATCC would be relieved a bit after they announced their participation in a theater production titled “Perempuan-Perempuan Chairil Anwar”. The band were appointed to fill in the official soundtrack of the project and they planned to release three numbers for it. First up, they revealed a song called “Hidup Hanya Sekali” with an accompanying music video. Released under Titimangsa Foundation, the theater’s production company, the video sees Sari, Mela, Ricky, John, Rico and Ale wear their usual vintage attire. Shot in a monochromatic tone, the music video was directed by Allan Soebakir. The song screams WSATCC as we could hear a lot of 50’s and 60’s influence with a lot of Indonesiana feel from the percussion.

Several footage from the play as well as some photos were shown in between the music video and in the background. For the lyrics, WSATCC was assisted by Agus Noor who picked the lyrics for this song. It is said that the lyrics is a combination between Chairil Anwar’s verses with some addition or twists. It was then edited and arranged by Ricky Virgana. It was not confirmed yet whether the band will perform the songs during the play since the vocalist Sari, is planned to give birth near the scheduled date. The play will be shown on 11 – 12 November and the ticket has been on sale here. Starring actor Reza Rahardian as Chairil Anwar, the play which is directed by Happy Salma will see the women who took roles in the poet’s lives. There will be Chelsea Islan who plays Sri Ajati, Tara Basro as Sumirat, Marsha Timothy as Ida and Sita Nursanti as Hapsah Wiraredja. Meanwhile, let’s watch and dance with WSATCC “Hidup Hanya Sekali” here.
