Saturday Night Well Spent with Fazerdaze at Rossi Musik
New Zealand’s indie rock piece, Fazerdaze has visited Jakarta last Saturday, 21 October 2017. Amelia Murray and the band successfully smashed their first performance ever in Indonesia. Taking place at Rossi Musik Fatmawati, the dream pop unit from Auckland chose Jakarta as the last destination for their Asia tour in 2017. Fazerdaze have made appearance in Japan, and some countries at Southeast Asia since 11 October. Prior to their performance, two local acts graced the stage and they are Sharesprings and Grrrl Gang. Both groups excelled their performances which show similar genre to the main guest star. The crowd was getting heated up by their performance and their cheer became louder when Amelia Murray took the stage with a greeting,”Selamat malam!” She shut down the entire Rossi Musik Fatmawati’s hall and it was no wonder since Studiorama, Noisewhore and Six Thirty Recordings who brought the band to Indonesia have announced the sold out tickets weeks before the D-day.
In the span of four days, there was no ticket left on the official ticket counters. In total, Fazerdaze sang 14 songs that Saturday night and her set was opened with “Half-Figured”. It was then followed by their second hit single “Break Your Walls” and “Heavenly Sweet” and several other hits like “Misread”, “Jennifer”, and “Friends”. Almost all the songs from “Morningside” were sung that night. As the climax of the show, Amelia performed her biggest hit and breakthrough song “Lucky Girl”. It was meant to be the last song, but the fans were so eager to listen more of the tunes so the band returned to the stage. “This is our first of our second last song”, she said and it was followed with another rendition of “Lucky Girl” and closed with “Little Uneasy”. The collaboration of these three collectives with media partners have successfully made the night an unforgettable one.
