Yockie Suryoprayogo is a legendary musician in Indonesia, whether with his solo work with rock group Godbless or his work for other musicians like late singer Chrisye, Ikang Fawzi, Nicky Astria and many more. The 63-year-old composer has notable work for both rock and pop genre and 80’s was the golden age of Yockie Suryoprayogo. As a form of appreciation and acknowledgement for his incredible effort in promoting local music and creating world-class composition, Interact Mahana Live in collaboration with Trans Event held a concert titled “Yockie Suryoprayogo in Rock: Menjilat Matahari”. In this concert, we are taken to a deeper journey with Yockie’s rock side that stemmed from his involvement in rock bands like Bigman Robinson, Double O, Giant Step, Contrapunk, Jaguar, and of course, Godbless. “Menjilat Matahari” itself is a title of Godbless’ song which he composed and performed with the band. Other musicians like Nicky Astria, Andy/Rif, Ariyo Wahab and veteran rocker Setiawan Djody will participate in this concert by performing songs that he created.
The concert will be held this Wednesday, 11 October 2017 at The Pallas SCBD, Jakarta and the ticket is on sale already. “Yockie Suryoprayogo in Rock: Menjilat Matahari” concert ticket is sold for IDR400,000 for VIP FDC and IDR250,000 for Reguler FDC. You can purchase the ticket through Kiostix and every purchase already includes soft drink. This concert marks the commitment from the promoter to let Indonesia’s music become king in its own home. Previously Interact Mahana Live has brought Yockie Suryoprayogo concert to three cities across Indonesia, that is Malang, Bandung and Jakarta. Yockie’s influence has managed to cross various genre and his music is considered genre-fluid since it combines various influences like jazz, ethnic, pop, and many more, making his music stands out against the test of time.
