Gerald Situmorang Successfully Held “Dimensions” Album Showcase “Alur Bunyi”

It doesn’t took too long for musician Gerald Situmorang to work on his solo venture. After releasing “Solitude” last year, Gerald finally revealed his sophomore album titled “Dimensions” through a showcase called “Alur Bunyi” last Wednesday (9/20). Taking place at GoetheHaus, Jakarta, he brought all the songs from the album on a live set. For his live performance, he was accompanied by Marco Steffiano (sequencer & effects), Randy MP (effects & soundscapes), Jessilardus Mates (electronic drums), Adra Karim (synth), Agung Munthe (synth) and Baskoro Juwono (voices). Artisa Tumiwa participated in the visual part of the showcase. Judging by these musicians’ instruments, you must guess that his new album leans toward more electronic sound. Yup, it is correct, as stated and witnessed on his showcase, he offered a new take of guitar instrumental combined with lots of electronic sounds. The venue was packed with GeSit’s fans and listeners who have waited for his album to be released and some people could not even enter the place due to overcapacity.

They had to settle with watching a screen from outside of the venue. Despite this setback, the whole event went well and the physical CD of “Dimensions” was also sold on the spot. “Dimensions” may sound different than “Solitude”, but it is still talking about GeSit’s personal experiences. Prior to the “Alur Bunyi” showcase, he already released the lead single from this album “Dice”. Along with the showcase, the album was officially available on digital streaming service like iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, Pandora, Amazon and Google Play Music. For you who could not make it to the showcase, but still want to cop his album, you can purchase it through @gesitmerch on Instagram. Congratulations on the release and you could listen to Gesits’ 2nd album “Dimensions” below.
