Indie Rock Piece, Eitherway Debut with “Thank Heaven”
Haum Entertainment, an independent record label based in Malang has been on hiatus for a year or so. Without revealing any new stuff, finally a new indie rock quartet called Eitherway debuted under this label. They have just released their single called ‘Thank Heaven” via Haum Entertainment’s Soundcloud account. Through a press release, it is explained that the song tells about a loner who keeps trying to make himself someone that he is most afraid of: being a wrong choice for other people. Such personal sentiment must come from personal experience, and it is the case for this song which was created by Eitherway’s vocalist, Bagas. The thought that he has become a wrong choice by his significant other, friends, parents or closest relatives haunted him which inspired him to make this song. Eitherway itself was formed in early 2017 and prior to their debut, Bagas has released a solo track under his alias Minor Dialogue titled “Alleviating”.
In this project, Bagas asked his friend Guntur to fill in guitar position, then two other friends joined the band Arifin (bass) and Ridho (drum). Proclaiming themselves as an indie rock band, Eitherway cited Modern Baseball as their influence. Although their debut single “Thank Heaven” sounds nothing like their idol’s music. The track is perfect for twentysomething which are still full with anxiety, doubts, and self-hate. The band is meant to be a platform for them to express their inner feelings through music. They also hint another release with Haum Entertainment, despite not spilling what kind of surprise they have in mind. It might be another single, music video, EP, or even an album. Stay tuned to Haum Entertainment’s feed and Eitherway’s Instagram for their latest update and listen to the debut track “Thank Heaven” below.
