LINE Concert 2017 Brought Music Enthusiasts Together in Surabaya!
For their latest campaign of “Closing the Distance”, LINE Indonesia present LINE Concert, a series of music events that are meant to take LINE enthusiasts into the world of music with unique approach a la LINE. Surabaya hosted its first installment with a concert that was held at Grand City Convention Hall on 8 September 2017. It present renown Indonesian musicians like Isyana Sarasvati, Glenn Fredly, Tulus, and Sheila on 7. It generated 4,000 spectators in one night only show and it lasted for approximately three hours. A long queue was formed upon the entrance prior to the concert, showing the great eagerness from Surabaya’s youth to witness the concert of their favorite idols. LINE can be said to be more than a chatting application, but it also a lifestyle that combines several elements of life like entertainment, news and video call. LINE Concert integrate LINE Today, LINE Chat, and LINE Video Call to help boost its promotion of the event. “We’re very happy to see thousands of LINE loyal users enjoying the show. It makes the moment became a perfect opportunity to introduce LINE Concert to the public. In a sea of green light sticks, fans enjoyed the performances from those aforementioned artists. Isyana made a spontaneous song on stage by using lyrics suggestions from LINE users that were submitted through official account of LINE Concert. While Tulus and Glenn happily took random audience to be on stage with them. In the end, Glenn Fredly joined forces with Tulus and Isyana Sarasvati for a collaboration performance, that was never shown anywhere else. They covered a song by Naif called “Air dan Api” with Glenn’s commando from the piano. Sheila on 7’s set was opened by a video compilation made by Sheila Gank, the fan base of the pop band hailing from Yogyakarta. These new modifications on the rather traditional music performances helped the fans and the idols to get closer on many levels. Tulus voiced out his appreciation to the unique concept of the concert, while Eross Chandra, the guitarist of Sheila on 7 was amazed with the huge Rock Brown character. The series won’t stop in Surabaya, other cities are planned to host it as well. The city of heroes was chosen due to its large amount of loyal LINE users and it was proven with how fast the tickets for the concert was sold out. We definitely had a blast as well, and the LINE characters can not be cuter than these!
