Uncanny Reveal New Single “Lone Survivor” from “Konformator” Project
Uncanny, an alternative/noise rock trio comprised of Muhammad Suryokusumo (guitar, vocal), Athif Aiman (drum) and Indra Suhyar (bass) introduce their latest single called “Lone Survivor”. They revealed the track ahead of their upcoming project with urban toy artist, Scumbag Mutant. The single is going to be included in their upcoming double single release. Different than previous songs on “Ferris Wheel” EP, this single is entirely sung by Uncanny’s drummer who also wrote the lyrics. “Lone Survivor” might be a soundtrack for those who struggle to meet their ends in a harsh working environment. “(The lyrics are about) the struggle of living in the capital city, alone, working to get paid, and compete with thousands of other people,” explains Athif Aiman. The song is a fast paced number with prominent drum sound compared to their guitar heavy songs on their previous EP in 2016. It is highly possible that because of the drummer who made it. Another song in the project “Three Past Thirty” also has the same characteristic like this one, so you should expect less modulation as well.
Talking about their next collaboration project with Scumbag Mutant or also known as Dimski, Uncanny’s songs will be inserted in a USB drive inside a toy called ‘Konformator’. The character was created by Dimski after got inspired by a song from Uncanny called “Confom”. “The toy character that I created was inspired by “Confom”. But their two recent songs also became my mood booster in visualizing the form of this toy. Honestly, I got the final form of ‘Konformator’ after listening to Uncanny’s new songs,” utters Dimski regarding the process of making the urban toy. In collaboration with Cut Your Ears! (CYE!) Records and Royal Yawns, you will also get the digital version of ‘Konformator’ as well as “Ferris Wheel” EP. The bundling package for the toy with the album, t-shirt, and zine has been available to be pre-ordered since 25 August 2017.
