KEUKEN 8 Showcased Food Festival with An Extraordinary Concept
KEUKEN is one of the festival which concerns about local culinary, and always gives space for entrepreneurs to share their craft in serving delicacies that could pamper the visitors. Starting from modern food truck, to traditional food stalls, KEUKEN has a commitment to continue showcasing the best of Bandung’s culinary experience, including this year’s celebration with the theme “Ingredients Garden”. Last year, with the theme “Revisiting The River”, KEUKEN brought awareness of using public space near Cikapundung river as recreation place. On KEUKEN 8 held on Sunday, 6 August 2017 at Arcamanik Driving Range, we were delighted with various exciting segments and programs. Event sessions that consist of Good Morning Session, Daylight Lunch Session, Sunset Garden Session, and Moonlight Dinner Session are one of the highlighted programs of this year.
We arrived at the venue just in time for Moonlight Dinner Session at 7PM and we could see several activities like Brand Activation from Dinner (Indofood), band performance, music selectors and Kitchen Stage were happening. On Kitchen Stage, Chef Masbay did a little Q&A session with his expertise in cooking Western and Eastern food. He cooked up a dish made out of beef and mutton meat with spices, stir fried on a pan with the aroma that could be smelled from the radius of 100 meters. The visitors could taste his cooking after it was being served, and to accompany them to enjoy the food, vinyl selectors played music on the background. On another stage, Curly & Me played their acoustic pop songs for the audience and the crowd seemed to get bigger as the night grew darker. We strolled around Arcamanik Drive Range to see what else we could enjoy at the site. Movie Air happened to be played, it is a program in which people could watch selected indie movies in an open air while stuffing their mouths with great food provided by the tenants. We watched a couple of movies, while waiting our food from nearby food truck.
The venue for KEUKEN 8 was huge but we were not confused with where to see this or get there, because the map was clearly illustrated by the committee. From the food and beverage tenants, communities, stages, and other programs. The organizers were very friendly and accommodating the visitors and helped them with their inquiries. They also relentlessly guided the visitors to the nearest lavatory, the hot spot, and made us comfortable there. KEUKEN 8 has successfully given us an amazing experience with a pretty simple concept, but extraordinary execution. The ambience was warm, as couple shared their food and chatted. It was simply a perfect place to gather families, friends, and lovers and food truly became the glue and ice breaker for any conversation. There was a significant improvement from last year in terms of content and ambience. “Exciting, it is very exciting and more innovative,” said a visitor after being asked about KEUKEN 9. Hopefully the next installment of KEUKEN keeps bringing us innovative concept with Bandung’s culinary as its front.
