Dekat Reveal Music Video for Pulsing Single “Penjahat”
R&B/hip hop trio, Dekat, have revealed their latest visual for single “Penjahat”. Kamga, Chevrina Anayang, dan Tahir “Tata” Hadiwijoyo of Dekat once again appointed motion graphic artist, Giri Arnaga, as the director for this music video. He was assisted by Ardybros and Niki Fauzan as the directors of photography. In this video we can see the trio sing and dance to the song in a low red and blue lighting. Sporting casual outfits, Kamga and Tata opt to wear more colorful wardrobe compared to Chevrina who chooses black and rock-inspired ensemble. Their movements in this video are accompanied with generated motion graphics which show several random objects like elephants, t-rex, ocean waves, and many more. The trio decided to form this group after previously involved in a pop group called Tangga. They have revealed their debut album “Meranggas” which shows their true passion in music, showcasing various explorations with R&B as the underlying tone.
“Penjahat” which was produced together with Marcellino Aditya, tells about a criminal whom we often meet in our daily life. That criminal that the band refers to includes liars, cheaters and other malicious stuff people do these days. The song which highlights Chevrina’s vocal in the chorus is met with Kamga’s gentle voice in the verses. Tata then comes along with his powerful rap depicting the awful stuff that criminals do. The song has several influences in it including Jamaican that can be found in its dancehall beats, as well as trap, and electronic music with its play on synths. It also has that EDM breakdown before the lyrics “penjahat ada dimana mana” come echoing in the background.
Prior to the release of “Penjahat”, Dekat has launched their music video of “FAQ”, “Lebih Dariku”, and “Berkhayal”. Only one song left from their EP that has not been interpreted into a music video and it’s the closing track “Pulang”. The band stated that they will also make a music video for it that will be released later on.
