Ripstore Live Fest Announced the 10 Finalists from The Audition
Ripstore.Asia, a netlabel network based in Bekasi has collaborated with Castel District to hold a series of band audition, music workshop, live performances and digital releases called Ripstore Live Festival. After many bands entered the audition that was opened since April, on Friday, 12 May 2017, ten bands were announced as the top 10 finalists. The competition combines two methods of judging including online competition and curation from the live stage of the bands. It is exclusively held for the bands residing in Jakarta Greater Area or Western Java since the activity is centered at Bekasi and East Jakarta. Participants from 9 cities, Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Banten, Karawang, Bandung, Cirebon have battled it out and they come from various genres and formats. The big 10 bands that have managed to be selected are: 90 Horse Power, an indie pop act from Depok; D.P.O.X, a punk rock band from Bekasi; Fearcrisis, a metalcore unit from Jakarta; Freedom Street, an easycore unit from Bekasi; Loded 60, alternative rock act from Bogor; Mr. Sungkono, a punk rock band from Jakarta; Pasukan Penjaga Pohon, an alternative rock band from Jakarta; Stupor, an alternative rock band from Jakarta; The Flowchart, a pop punk act based in Bekasi; and Weekendtime, a punk rock band hailing from Bekasi.
The underlying things that can be found on these bands are they have to be an independent, young and beginner musicians that will later be a representative of digital music on Ripstore.Asia. Song and recording quality, existence on indie music scene that includes that gig history, as well as social media engagement, wardrobe and showmanship on stage are among the criteria that are included in the judging process. The committee wish that the winner of this festival will be an act that will be appreciated and loved by the public. The peak event for Ripstore Live Festival will happen in July, but fret not because during the holy month of Ramadan there will be sharing sessions and workshops held to expand your horizon on music industry. The topics that are chosen for the sharing and workshop sessions are audio recording, band management, press release, copyright patent, and many more.
