The Most Annoying Song That Will Get Stuck in Your Heads (Based on Our Readers’ Survey)
Humans’ subconscious mind is said to be greater than the conscious one. One of its ability is getting the most annoying song or tunes replayed and stuck in our heads forever, there…. until the next annoying song comes on. We ran a small survey asking our dearest readers on the songs they consider annoying but later on they find themselves humming to it. As expected, the winner of the survey is no other than The Chainsmokers. The electronic duo can bee seen placing their songs in the top 40 on the worldwide chart, but some people find their songs to be nuisance. A critic website called Metacritic rate their album “Memories… Do Not Open” at 1.3, the lowest album score on the site to date. Cited from Stereogum, the latest release from Ed Sheeran “Divide” was also shredded into piece and even it got a generous 4.3 score. So our readers voted 3 songs from them that are the catchiest yet irksome. There are “Closer”, “Paris” as well as that horrendous collaboration with Coldplay called “Something Just Like This”. To make it fair, Ed Sheeran is also on this list with his overplayed song “Shape of You”. That song is haunting us.
The second winner is Indonesian male singer Anji with his hit song “Dia”. The singer who used to be the frontman of band called Drive released this song a year ago, and it became a steady playlist…everywhere. From the supermarket down to the humble street vendors, it might be one of the songs that are often covered by street singers. Expose yourself to this song whole day, and guaranteed you’ll find yourself humming to “Oh Tuhan…. ku cinta dia….” later. Holding the same position with Anji, it’s rapper Drake. Drake took the crown of 2016 with his hit song “Hotline Bling” that is still played on heavy rotation until now. His latest single from album “More Life” called “Passion Fruit” is included in the list by our reader. The next one is the Melayu pop band, Armada. The band was recently caught in a controversy for their song’s similarity with the soundtrack of Taiwanese drama “Meteor Garden”. Although denying the plagiarism accusation, the song “Asal Kau Bahagia” sticks to our brains like glue. Ugh.
Afterwards, the list goes on a more random direction with indie bands like Miami Horror, Wallows, The 1975 are listed. Twenty One Pilots also appear on this list, along with songstress Lana Del Rey who is releasing her forthcoming album soon. It might be the way she sings or her songs that annoy some of our readers. Next up in no particular order, there are Ayu Ting Ting with “Sambalado”, rapper Fetty Wap, singer FKA Twigs, Indonesian band Last Child, hiphop unit who have just announced their break up Die Antwoord, Aussie electronic musician Young Franco and religious singer, Maher Zain. Controversial social media persona, Awkarin whose real name is Karin Novilda is in it as well. We also include an honorable mention that is suggested by a reader, but you should watch the video list until the end to find out who is the honorable mention from The Display. Thank you for our readers who have participated, you know who you are, we can not thank you enough! Watch the video below and enjoy…
