It is said that the album tells about Korekayu’s concern about their city Yogyakarta which evolves into a metropolitan city each day. Those five songs bring back the pop ambience from the 70’s with poetic lyrics. Korekayu said that the stories from each song was based on their personal experience while they an active students at Sanata Dharma. The song “Di Bawah Tangga” for example. was written on a jamming session they had with a community under the stair of their college cafetaria. “Jingga Senja dan Lalu Lalang Manusia” was inspired by a story of urban office workers who found happiness on simple things like enjoying dusk time during the weekend. While “Seorang Anak Lelaki” tells about a tragic life that was experienced by a person who sells newspaper under the traffic light. Lastly, “Sari” is a romantic single that chronicled a love story in college. All of the songs in “Retrorika Metropolitan” are available to be streamed on Spotify, Joox, Deezer, iTunes, and many more.
