UBER Celebrates Kartini Day with A Special Contest Dedicated for Inspirational Female Drivers
Have you ever rode an UBER with a woman behind the wheel? Then why don’t you tell your experience and take a picture, because UBER will give you and the driver special rewards during a contest held to celebrate Kartini Day in Indonesia. Starting from 10 to 20 April 2017, the passengers of UBER who happen to be driven by female drivers are encouraged to share their experience with a photo and caption that will be uploaded onto the passenger’s Instagram account. With the hashtag #SheMovesUs, UBER want to make Kartini Day’s celebration in Indonesia more festive, because nowadays women play important roles in our society sometimes without us realizing it. These strong individuals have become the predecessors of Kartini who also contribute to their family and community. Evie Tavipi, Dewi Anggraeni and Nunung Hayati are three UBER female drivers that are the examples of modern strong women.
Evie Tavipi and Dewi Anggraeni are both single parents who have to make a living for their children. Evie has been an UBER X driver after her husband passed away, and with her determination she could enroll her child to pursue an education in South Korea with scholarship program. She also has inspired her passenger with her story until she was invited to give motivational speech about strong and independent women. While Dewi is an UBER motor driver who received much praise for her agility while driving the motorbike. Nunung also partially fulfill her dreams by being an UBER driver as she could make new friends and introduce Bali’s beauty to the passengers. If you want to participate in the contest held by UBER, here’s the steps you should follow.
- If you happen to ride an UBER (car or motorbike) with female drivers in Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Bali and Malang, do not hesitate to share inspirational stories you got from them or take a picture together if the driver allows you to.
- Post the picture on Instagram, and tag @Uber_IDN and write a caption about how the driver moves the passenger with her story, do not forget to use the hashtag #SheMovesUs
- 21 best photos will receive IDR300,000 UBER credits for the passengers and IDR300,000 cash for UBER drivers
- 10 winners from Jakarta will get special reward which are a special lunch and beauty & pamper session for 1 passenger and 1 woman figure (mother, friend, spouse, relatives, etc) that inspires and moves him/her and 1 invitation for drivers for lunch and beauty & pamper session.
