Ngalam Youthphoria from IFL Chapter Malang Held Its Second Edition with More Surprises
Ngalam Youthphoria 2.0 has been happening on 17 March 2017 with the tagline “Ayas Umak, Utas Ngalam”. It is roughly translated to You and I, One Malang and the event was held at Lapangan Parkir Stadion Gajayana Malang, the same venue as its first edition. The celebration was to commemorate Indonesian Future Leaders Chapter Malang‘s committee during their one year of service. The youth organization aims to build a bridge between the youth in Malang and the citizens in the city and culture as the theme was infused in the music festival and community exhibitions held in Ngalam Youthphoria 2.0. In total, 40 communities were invited to showcase their activities, vision, and mission to the visitors and they come from different backgrounds starting from social communities, art, hobbies, education, environment, and youth communities as well. The officials from Malang’s government, from Youth and Sports department as well as Tourism Department attended the opening ceremony of the event and also visited the communities booths.
Not only encouraging the community to display their individual activity, the event also encouraged each of them to interact and make a new bond so the harmony between communities was created. Workshop, live mural, and performances were also present there. Sanggar Seni Asmoro Bangun performed Malang’s traditional dance which was called “Tari Topeng Malangan” and another dance called “Fire Dance”. Local musicians like Philosophia, 3 Segara, Closure, Ekstraversi and Much participated to perform their exciting sounds on stage. While the ultimate and most awaited performance went to Indonesian veteran band, Orkes Pengantar Minum Racun or commonly known as OM PMR. The band which was led by Johnny Iskandar greeted the stage of Ngalam Youthphoria 2.0 at night and they brought laughter to the audience with their comical antics and funny songs. Besides OM PMR, an award for the best community closed the celebration and it was won by Run Malang Run!, a community of runners. Hopefully the next edition of Ngalam Youthphoria by IFL Chapter Malang would be bigger and better!
