Jemima Unveils Future Soul New Single “Mama Reach” from “XXX (Side B)” Album
Jemima is back with a sultry and futuristic soulful single called “Mama Reach”. The singer, musician, and songwriter has previously shared the Side A of the “XXX” album with “The Bodies” and “Euphoria” as the lead singles last year. Released under an independent record label, Double Deer Music, “Mama Reach” was produced by electronic producer, Adhe Arrio, while she’s also in charge of being the co-producer. The single artwork was created by PROJEKITA (Ziad ‘Emenk’ Sofyan, Jesselyn Nathania, Tubagus Rofi) and it portrays two figures of a mother and her child in oil painting style. The singer whose full name is Jemima Namura delivers her light voice over heavy soulful electronic music arrangement. The single tells about two people falling head over heels for each other. “Mama Reach” gives off a subtle sexy feeling without being too overboard with its vocal styling or composition.
Jemima has released a critically acclaimed self titled debut album back in 2011 which earned a nomination on AMI Awards 2012. It was also deemed as the second best released album of the year by prestigious music media, Rolling Stone Indonesia in 2011. Since then, the musician who is of Javanese, Japanese, Chinese and Malaysian descent has released a slew of singles independently, until she joined Double Deer Records in 2016. Moreover, “Mama Reach” will be included in Jemima’s forthcoming album which is called “XXX (Side B)”. Besides Adhe Arrio, Gerhan (Komodo), and Kimo have also lent their hands on producing the songs in the album. Matajiwa has been reported to once again collaborate with Jemima after they also worked together last year on single “Euphoria”. The collaboration from these artists resulted in another song called “Do What You Love” that has also been revealed simultaneously with “Mama Reach”.
