Stress Out Over The Mountain and Far AwayCeltic Punk Unit, Stress Out, Released Second Single “Over The Mountain and Far Away”

Stress Out which are a celtic punk band hailing from Malang revealed their second single titled “Over The Mountain and Far Away” digitally. While their first single “Northern Girl” depicts sadness of a sailor, the second one has a different and rather contrasting theme. The single tells about the history of Malang city starting from the era of Singosari Kingdom until the era of Dutch’s invasion. The band that are made up of Ediahasta, Fadhel, Reinaldy, Dhimas, Hilal and Gamma aim to show their love to their hometown with the new song. Ediahasta plays the violin which opens the song and then it is followed by a kick ass drum in courtesy of Fadhel. There is also an element of banjo and tin-whistle in this song which makes the sound of the song very Skandinavian-like. It is like a combination between pop-punk and folk-trot in one song. Reinaldy, the vocalist, wrote the lyrics of this song and in “Over The Mountain and Far Away”, Stress Out emphasize  more on its vocal or singing.

Stress Out Over The Mountain and Far AwayIt is proved by many sing-along and harmonization that appear on this song. They said that it was partly inspired by their biggest role models Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly who often incorporate the singalong in their songs. Compared to the first single, Stress Out want to explore their sounds more and bring something new to the table, rather than serving the ordinary fast-paced pop punk rhythm. The artwork for the single is a photograph of Malang’s view which has mountain, hills, and rice fields in it. If you love a high spirited pop-punk song mixed with Celtic and Irish influence to pump up your day, “Over The Mountain and Far Away” might be the right song for you. The single has been uploaded onto their Soundcloud and Bandcamp account during Valentine’s Day. Moreover they also hint about a physical release of their records sometime soon, but first, listen to their second single below.
