Hi Mom! Hold “The Youth is The Real Time Bomb” Release Party in Surabaya
Nine years can be considered as a long time career for a band hailing from Surabaya, Hi Mom! During the course of those years, Hi Mom! are finally be able to unleash their full lenght debut album “The Youth is The Real Time Bomb” on October last year. Their current formation is Indra Adi Surya (gitar), Khukuh A. Yuda (vocal, gitar), Adhiel Alba (bass), Eri Rukmana (keyboard, synthesizer) and Giovanni Dananjaya (drums). Previously the band has released 3 EPs which are Turning Point Demo (2007), Gerimis Saat Kemarau (2010) and Initiate The Initiatives (2014). Their new album is said to be an easy listening ride without much experiments on guitar chords, effects, or irregular beats. Alternative is one way to describe Hi Mom!’s genre of music.
“The Youth is The Real Time Bomb” is filled with nine tracks and one hidden track that express the current situation from our surroundings. The album will take its listeners to dwell into five cosmos elements, with the fifth one is love. Their first single from the album “Penghuni Telinga” tells about negative influences that require one’s wise decision and action to respond to them. Their album has been released physically and digitally in several steps. The first leg of release in October 2016, the album was distributed independently in CD format through Beautiful Terror Records, and online. The next leg of release will see the album distributed through digital outlets, iTunes and Spotify. A special boxset filled with booklet, merchandise, and cassette format album is also planned to be reveleade by Hi Mom! management in near future.
Following the album release and distribution, on Sunday, January 29th 2017 at BURO Bars Surabaya, Hi Mom! will hold a release party. Their set will be opened by two Yogyakarta bands who happen to be on tour which are Nerv.ous and Skandal. The event will start at 7PM until half past ten and conducted by two MCs, Ndoway and Atthur Razaki. The event will also have artwork exhibition which features artwork inspired by Hi Mom!’s newest album.
