The Landscape Park Life Tour by Nanaba Records Goes to Malaysia
You thought that The Landscape Park Life Tour by Nanaba Records is over? Apparently the tour is still going on in 2017 and now the boutique cassette label are taking it further until it reaches our neighboring country, Malaysia. Nanaba Records bring two acts from their roster which are Peonies and lightcraft. Sadly, city pop unit from Bandung, Ikkubaru that joined the previous leg of the tour could not participate since they are on the verge of finishing their sophomore album. Nonetheless, it will not lessen the excitement of the two bands to perform in Malaysia. They are scheduled to perform in various venues in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor starting from today, Friday, January 13 until January 15. The tour will also see lightcraft’s participation in DongTaiDu Music Fest 2017 along with other 30 bands from 6 countries. The festival is held by DongTaiDu, an indie record label based in Malaysia and it will become lightcraft’s first performance abroad before their much anticipated gig in SXSW US.
Besides the gigs, both Peonies and lightcraft are also scheduled to make an appearance on Balcony TV, an international online show which features bands or musicians to perform on balconies or rooftops across the globe. The tour in Malaysia feels like a homecoming show for lightcraft since the band was formed there, so it is not surprising that Imam, their frontman is in charge for organizing The Landscape Park Life Tour in Malaysia. Nanaba Records’ founder and Peonies’ frontman, Jodi Setiawan could not hide his excitement for this foray and he is most excited about their gig at Teenage Head Records which is considered as one of the top record store in Kuala Lumpur. “It has also been a pleasant surprise to find out that news of our tour has been warmly welcomed by music enthusiasts in Malaysia. It’s nerve-wracking for us yet also very exciting indeed,” says Jodi.
