SUPERBOY Are in The Midst of Preparing Materials for New Album
Grunge rock unit from Jakarta, SUPERBOY, has been reportedly busy preparing materials for their forthcoming new album. SUPERBOY was established back in 2015 and it was a transformation from the previous band of the same genre called Arockguns. Under the name of Arockguns, which was founded by Lutfi (drum), Agung (guitar), and Dody (vocal), the band has released 1 mini album in 2010, 1 full length album called “Posesif” in 2012, and three singles in 2014. Unfortunately when they were on the brink of rising fame, their vocalist, Dody suffered an illness and he passed away in 2015. His passing caused a hard blow to the band’s future career, but they did not let the mourning hinder them from creating music and performing on stage.
Boym came along and filled in the position of the vocalist, and they thought a name’s change was necessary, alas SUPERBOY was born. The last three singles that were recorded in 2014, which titled “Hujan”, “Orgil” and “Nggak Bokek Lagi” have been re-recorded with Boym on the vocal track. These initial records will then be completed with new materials that they are working on right now. SUPERBOY give a hint that their new materials will still have the same genre as the predecessor, but this time, the grunge rock that they develop will bring a new and refreshing sound. The recording process still combine digital and analog tools and methods in one of the studio in Jakarta. Some of the singles are currently on the work. SUPERBOY’s current line up includes Lofai on bass, Lutfi on drum, Agung Cp on guitar and Boym on vocal. The new record is expected to be released next year. Hopefully with the new spirit and song, they could come back stronger and pull out an epic performance for their fans who have been waiting for so long.
