Komat Kamit KnalpotKomat Kamit Knalpot, Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of miXth EO and Malang’s Riding Culture

Komat Kamit Knalpot is an event held by miXth event organizer from FISIP UB to celebrate their 10th anniversary as one of the most prolific student-based event organizer in Malang. They chose riding as the big theme of the event after seeing much enthusiasm and participation of riding culture in the city. Many motorbike clubs emerge and they usually love to get involved in a gathering or event to celebrate their love for riding and the motorbike itself. On Saturday, December 3rd 2016, the event started with riding across Malang city with the meeting point located at Brawijaya Museum and finish line at the venue which is Rooftop Dinoyo Mall. Besides riding there were also music performances, food and beverage bazaar, and flea market.

Upon coming to the venue, we could see that the vast area looked not as crowded as we imagined. The F&B tenants occupied only a small portion of the venue, and flea market tenants were present only on the front part. On another side of the area, there were six motorbike communities which showcase their motorbike collections. The communities were divided into two which were rockers motorbike community and Vespa community. Each of them had 3 clubs that participated in the event. Those were Stalen, Kubu Barat and The Legend from rockers motorbike community and Malves, Vespabox and Move Malang from Vespa community. Other than that, the venue was nicely decorated in thematic decoration to suit the riding theme and the committee also wore hippie-ish wardrobe to make the event feel more festive.

The celebration was also in conjunction with International Disability Day and miXth has reached out to YPAC (Yayasan Pendidikan Anak Cacat) to give them donation during the event and also invited them to perform for the audience of Komat Kamit Knalpot. Akmal Jati Pratomo, the head committee of Komat Kamit Knalpot stated that the representatives from YPAC were handed out some donation from miXth as well as from the riding communities. Since the event started out early in the afternoon, not much people showed up there due to the constant shower of rain. However, the show must go on and the music performances from Rosche, Remissa, My Mother Is Hero, Larynx, and Sisi Tipsi started.

Larynx

These acts offered various genre to the audience starting from rock to 50’s music. My Mother Is Hero from Surabaya captured our attention with their hardcore rock sound and we did not expect such bold voice coming out from Yasser Bahasoan, their vocalist. Larynx then proceeded the stage with their various stage acts and gimmicks, they even took previous acts My Mother Is Hero and Remissa to their stage to perform the last song together. Sisi Tipsi became the last and most awaited performer of the day and they succesfully brought the crowd together with their charming 50’s music and songs like “Alkohol” or “Aroma Dia”. It ended the night beautifully and miXth also did not forget to celebrate their anniversary. Komat Kamit Knalpot, despite its shortcoming, proved that miXth is a credible event organizer that could bring fun concept on their events. Happy 10th anniversary miXth!
