Gerald Situmorang with Tommy Pratomo are Ready to Embark on “Solitour”
Upon the successful release of his debut solo album “Solitude”, Gerald Situmorang is ready to embark on a tour across Java titled “Solitour”. The 27 year old musician also has suceed in holding a showcase called “Night of Solitude” in Jakarta a while ago. He won’t be alone during this tour as Tommy Pratomo will accompany him all along. Tommy is a saxophone player who was in a project with Gerald with BAG+BEAT in 2010.
Both musicians will perform their respective work during the tour with Tommy putting put performances from his TND album from 2015 and materials from his upcoming second album that will be released next year. Five cities will be visited by Gerald and Tommy which are Solo, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Malang. Malang would be the first stop from “Solitour”. The cities are chosen based on the music atmosphere and the market potential since both musicians perform segmented instrumental pieces to the audience.
Tommy further added that his longtime friendship with Gerald make the tour become something new to them. He will have a new concept that he has prepared for this tour. In “Solitour”, Tommy would play accompanied by a pianist, rather than his usual full band format.
