Shewn "Sun/Shine"Shewn Release Their First Music Video for “Sun/Shine”

After uploading the video teaser a while ago, post-hardcore collective from Malang, Shewn, finally release their full video for the single “Sun/Shine” on November 11th. It is their first single from their debut album “At Home, Drowning” which was released a year ago. It also happens to be the first music video for the group that consists of Ekki (vocal), Iyok (guitar), Afif (bass), Endar (guitar) and Rio (drum). Ekki who is in charge of writing and composing this song said that the single tells about a situation when someone had to make another people happy, while he/she was not being himself.

The video took a month in the making from the initial raw take down to the editing process. Shewn collaborated with Levicor Production for this video, with videographer Aldian Ibanez at the helm of the project. The video was shot in an outdoor area which shows abandoned places around Kotalama, Malang. It reflects the feel of their album concept and also better introduce another perspective of Malang city to anyone who watches the video. Due to the unpredictable weather and each member’s personal business, the video somehow still fulfills its one month target of production. The video is also a show of gratitude towards tremendous support that Shewn received last year, after having a terrible car crash during their trip to Jakarta. They had to postpone their gig on Humming Mad #10 in Jakarta, which was also the day that they released their album “At Home, Drowning” via Haum Entertainment.

Shewn "Sun/Shine"Since then people within the scene or outside has been generous in giving them moral and material support to overcome the tragedy. Within a year, the band tried to go through recovery process and get over their trauma in order to function well as a band again. Hopefully with the new video, Shewn could grow stronger and become more productive in making music. Watch the video for “Sun/Shine” below.
