Thursday Noise Vol. 9 : The Release of Morfem’s New Album “Dramaturgi Underground”
Morfem took the stage of Thursday Noise Vol.9 that was held at Ecobar Kemang, Jakarta to launch their third album titled “Dramaturgi Underground”. Thursday Noise which features indie rock and alternative music also got Gascoigne, The Rang-Rangs and The Jansen on stage for their 9th installment. Jimi Multhazam, the initiator of Thursday Noise as well as the vocalist of Morfem said that the event was unlike the previous edition to him. “This Thursday Noise is special to me because it also becomes the launching party of Morfem’s third album “Dramaturgi Underground” after three years of waiting. The album production was helped by the brilliant touch of seasoned engineer Asmoro Djati in the mixing and mastering department. Meanwhile the instruments recording process was handled by Wahyu HW,” Jimi added through a press release.
For those who attended the gig last night, you must have agreed that the crowd was great. Morfem, being a veteran performers like they are, successfully rocked the stage with their recent single “Anabas Testudineus”, as well as fan’s favorites “Jungkir Balik”, “Tidur Dimanapun Bermimpi Kapanpun”, rumahsakit’s cover “Kuning” and also a cover of Pearl Jam’s “Last Kiss”. There was also an art exhibition that displayed the illustrations of ten visual artists. They interpreted Morfem’s lyrics from the eight songs that can be found on their new album into an artwork. Those ten visual artists are Aprilia Apsari (vocalist of White Shoes and The Couples Company), Farid Stevy (vocalist of FSTVLST), Ricky Malau, Marishka Soekarna, Argy Pradipta, Ahmad “Djali” Rizzali, Reza Pradipto, Gama Dwisetya, Ahmad “Madfire” Muarif, and Rato Tanggela. Each of their own incorporate their characteristics onto the artworks, and they resulted in some intriguing and magnificent artworks that suit the style of Morfem.
Furthermore, Jimi plans to bring Thursday Noise to tour across main cities of Indonesia. You can catch Morfem’s performance at Go Ahead Challenge Artwarding Night 2016 on November 20th where they will collaborate with The Brandals to give you one hell of a performance.
