Live Forever X: Cirebon’s music and art event was festive and unhindered by rain
Live Forever was finally held for the tenth time in Cirebon. Taking place at Famouz Café on Jl. Tuparev, the event boasted a multi genre music line-up, live custom toys and marketplace to fulfill the needs of gig goers in the city. Despite the constant pour of rain, it did not hold back the audience from attending Live Forever X. Anonymous Alliance, Morris Winstone, Polyester Embassy and Under The Big Bright Yellow Sun were included as the music guest stars for the event. Meanwhile, Eggball Aditio was in charge for doing live custom toys during the occasion.
Anonymous Alliance are a hip-hop collective from Cirebon that consist of 2 MCs, MC Gandhi a.k.a Sentrisc and Afa a.ka Microphonized. This time they performed with the help of Rio from Localos, to present a dynamic hip-hop performance for the audience. It was then followed by Morris Winstone, a rock band which pulled off five songs and did theatrical performance in the middle of their set. It was a great gimmick especially when the vocalist put on a mask while singing. Polyester Embassy became the third act of the night, and managed to carry out their songs from 2004-2008 era. They also generously gave out their single CDs titled “Since Tomorrow”.
The last act to close out the event was Under The Big Bright Yellow Sun, a post-rock band hailing from Bandung. The band which was formed in 2007 had just finished their Borneo tour and had performed on a grand scale music event, Soundrenaline 2016 in Bali. They skillfully displayed their craftmanship in performing melodies and distorted guitars sound and we were gladly swayed by their music. Throughout the event, Eggball Aditio, who’s known as a mural artist in Yogyakarta produced three custom toys and they were works of art. Hopefully the next installment of Live Forever will live up to this one.
