Nerv.ous finally launch a new album
Yogyakarta’s rock scene is rejoicing upon the release of Nerv.ous full-length new album that is also titled “Nerv.ous”. The band that is formed in 2005 and consists of Argha Mahendra (drum), Desiree Aditya (vocal & guitar), Eka Jayani Ayuningtyas (bass & vocal), and Marcello Whisnu Marhendra (guitar), took a long time to create this album. They went through a lot of unfinished materials and have been doing live performances without a complete formation before finalizing this album. Their last EP “One For A Brighter Future” was released in 2009 and all the materials from it are re-recorded to be included in this album.
Almost half of the 11 track album is in Indonesian and the lead single from “Nerv.ous” is called “Lagu Angsa”. This album is the fruition of their labor in combining various different sounds into their music like indie rock, “Seattle sound”, shoegazing, art punk, and riotgrrl. The tracks in the album also touch several dark and seemingly negative aspects of life such as murder, suicide, sexual repression, identity change, and dancing on a gig. To coincide with the release of their album, Nerv.ous also reveal the music video for “Lagu Angsa”. It is directed by Dimas Hendrajaya and Satria Semaun from Volo Creative House. The band is now preparing for their album launch concert at IFI-LIP Yogyakarta on October 31st.
