Music Wednesday: Fox Fort – “Slavery”

Fox Fort popped up on our email and somehow we were intrigued by the name itself and the single artwork (which is created by Eggy Caesario). Fox Fort is an alt-rock/post grunge band hailing from Bandung which consists of Arga (vocals, guitars), Anyu (drums, percussion), Valdy (backing vocals, guitar), Lukman (bass) and Bayu (guitar). “Slavery” is their second single that will be included in their forthcoming “World EP” that’s going to drop in December.

Upon first listen, we could capture the frustration and desperation that were packed in a gloomy and dark post-grunge tune. Minor notes and distorted guitar sound with the lyrics further indicates that “Slavery” is indeed a grunge-heavy song that could be the anthem of our generation.

From the press release, Fox Fort said that the single aims to tackle the theme of modern slavery when people were underpaid, do not work according to their passion, and the bosses work their employees to their bones to get as much profit as possible. Sounds familiar to you or maybe you are one of the slave? Then listen to “Slavery” below.
