Coffee Kayoe’s 1st Anniversary: A soiree filled with new inspiration and new passion
We were invited to Coffee Kayoe’s 1st Anniversary last night and it was partly a banquet and partly a warm gathering of friends. Reaching one year milestone to their journey, this small café located in Sigura-Gura on top of Richdjoe barbershop, has gone through some changes and modification to their menu.

This particular moment was also a chance for Coffee Kayoe to introduce their new set of menu to the media. There are in total 3 new items on the menu. Those new three are one main course which is Beef Premium Steak, one snack called Colombus and one beverage named Uniqorn.

The Beef Premium Steak consists of a very tender piece of grilled beef steak with a side of creamy mashed potatoes, runny sunny side up egg, veggies and barbeque sauce. The combination of these components go quite well together and to our surprise, there’s an extra sauce that you can add to the dish. The sauce was different than the bbq one, it’s a tomato based sauce that tasted similar to bolognese sauce.


The Colombus is a basket of fritters filled with three kind of snacks which are toasted garlic bread with smoked beef, thick cut potato fries and chicken pops. The chicken pops were crunchy outside yet moist and tender inside. We could not help ourselves from dipping into the hot sauce. To quench our thirst there was Uniqorn. It is a smoothie made out of caramel syrup, milk, and popcorn (hence the name Uniqorn). It was thick and creamy, though the unicorn pieces sometimes made our throats dry.


Other than the new menu, they also served their staple food like Rice Grill, Caribbean Pizza, Honey Glaze Banana and their specialty coffee. Overall Coffee Kayoe still got a long way to go as an FnB establishment in Malang. With the consistent menu and great taste of coffee, we hope CK is growing bigger and bigger each year. Once again, happy first anniversary Coffee Kayoe!
