VA VA VOOM! 02 is ready to be held in the middle of Surabaya city
Soledad and The Sisters Company once again bring the second installment of VA VA VOOM, a music showcase slash art show slash culinary experience, that is carefully curated by them. In this second edition, the event will be held in Marvell City Surabaya which located at the middle of the city and alternative rock seems to be the theme of the musical guests. They boast incredible line up which consists of rock acts from the Surabaya and beyond. The guest stars are SCALLER from Jakarta, Under The Big Bright Yellow Sun from Bandung, Timeless, and Hi Mom! both from Surabaya.
SCALLER comprised of Reney Karamoy (guitar) and Stella Gareth (synth/vocal) are the rising rock stars deemed as Rolling Stone Young Guns 2016 and The Indonesian Choice Awards 2016 Breakthrough Artist Nominee. They will bring excitement through their upbeat music and brilliant performance on stage. Having played on Soundrenaline 2016 and received a standing ovation, post-rock act from Bandung called Under The Big Bright Yellow Sun are also a force to reckon with. They experiment with their sound a lot and it resulted in the application of Bow, multiple guitar effects, ambient voice, and experimental bell that create the sound of UTBBYS. Local talents are present with the performance from Timeless and Hi Mom!. Both are active in Surabaya’s indie music scene and they are ready to deliver their distinctive sound to those who attend VA VA VOOM! 02.
Not only a gig, VA VA VOOM as we mentioned earlier also work together with Dwiky KA, an artist from Surabaya to make a special artwork for the visitors’ customized bandana. There will also be food and beverage booths during the event so by coming to VA VA VOOM! 02 you get the full experience of seeing live music, doing crafts, and dining.
